Here are the levels of figure skating starting from amateur all the way to professional and coaching. Watch this video introduction to the disciplines of figure skating.
I'm going to guide you through figure skating. Skating is a recognized sport by the ISU. We have this at Olympic level, starting at the very grass roots as well.
We have four disciplines, which is pair skating, ice dance, single skating, and synchronized skating. The sport is also associated with show business. At events, at the end of the competition, top finalists will usually skate exhibitions and these exhibitions are performed for the enjoyment of the public so then they're free to actually choose whatever music they would like and to interpret how they'd like to.
Once a skater has finished their amateur career, finished competitive skating, they will then usually turn professional and their options are to either skate in shows, to choreograph, or to coach, so there are lots of things for them to be able to do to further their career in the professional world. Now, we're going to show you the basic technique of how to start figure skating. .
