A Guide To Green Cleaning Tips
Green cleaning is a lot easier than most would think. There are several eco-friendly cleaning products on the market as well as things you already have around your household that can be used. In this short video, Annette Heyward describes several ways you can integrate green cleaning into your life and your everyday household cleaning.
So you want to clean in a more green way? Today, we're going to give you some top tips on how to do just that. One of the really good ways you could do it is to use cotton cloths in your cleaning. This way, you can rewash them once you've used them and use them again, and again, and again.
One of the other ways is when you're cleaning your surfaces, if you use a bucket that you keep just for that, you can then reuse that water to clean your floor. Just tip into another bucket and away you go. Another great way for cleaning products, is when you do your weekly shop, just have a little think about the products you're buying.
Try to go for something like Ecover and be careful of the packaging. Sometimes, they look like they're eco-friendly, but they're not. They just have pictures of grass and flowers on the front.
So, just maybe have a read of the back and see how many toxic chemicals are in there. The more natural products in there, the better the cleaning product is going to be. Another great way to clean in a more green way is use the stuff you have indoors like vinegar, and salt, fresh lemons.
A really good way of cleaning, you can use these and mix them together. Use the lemon juice with the salt to make a bath scrub. Make it into a little paste.
Dip in a sponge and use that to clean your bath. The liquid soda will cut through all the grease. It's a really good way of being more eco-friendly in your cleaning.
Another good thing to do is when you're buying a vacuum cleaner, try and get a lower voltage one. Or the new henry has a dual switch; which gives you a low output and a high output, which is a really good way of saving energy and reducing your carbon footprint. Another great thing to do is to recycle your old toothbrushes.
When they get a little bit worn and aren't quite doing the job, save them to clean inside all those little nooks and crannies and especially the grout in your bathroom. It's great for cleaning the grout. If you have any old cotton gloves at home, they make great polishing implements.
What you can do is put the glove on your hand, put the spray polish on the glove, and then just wipe up and down the banister. It's a really good way of cleaning banisters, which are sometimes difficult to clean, anyway. And there's your top tip for green cleaning. .
