Hello, I'm Thomas from the Kitesurf Centre. Today, I'm just going to show you a couple of tips on how to fly a kite and how to get into these brilliant sports of kite flying. This is a quick guide to land boarding.

So, I'm just going to talk through the equipment that you might need if you are going to get into the sport. So first of all, we're going to need a kite. So, a good size to start off with is two or three-meter, so it's not too big but you've got enough power to get you land boarding in most winds.

Second thing is a land board. So, it's basically a big skateboard with tires. You can use it on a load of different terrains, really good if it's on the hard sand or beaches, or if you live on lands, you'd go on kind of big open parks on the grass, really get in those spots.

Just in land, the wind's usually not quite so good but loads of options you can go land boarding on. So, just going to go through, that's to start the basics now, so first of all, you're going to need to learn how to fly a kite, so learn how to fly the kite first and then start getting to board wind once you're really natural with the kite. Otherwise, it's too much to think about.

So, if you learn the kite, now we get on to the board. So, first thing we need to do is get the board on our feet, so what we're going to do is we're going to put the kite up above your head at 12 o'clock. We're going to step on to the board, so both feet into the straps.

What you want to make sure is you just want to kick the board out slightly, so it's just facing towards the wind a bit because what will happen is if it starts to pull and you're just across the wind like I am at the moment, you're going to get pulled forward and your face. No, that hasn't happened. So, you're just going to kick around a bit so we're now aiming with the wind, not completely downwind, about 45 degrees downwind.

So, we're going to roll nicely but we're still going to roll with a resistance to the kite. Now, I'm going to dive the kite to get me rolling and to keep the kite coming, I'm going to move the kite up and down, up and down, on the side of the wind window and I'm wanting to travel it. So, I'm just going to do that right now.

That's about it, so keep the kite moving, and that's our guide to kite boarding. .
