If you are planning to soak up in the sun this weekend on the beach, you need tips to protect yourself from the sun. Then, this video is perfect for you as it has all the helpful tips and also advises on the types of sun products best suited to you.
Hi, there. I am Abi Cleeve from UltraSun. I have been in the sun tan industry for thirteen years, really helping people to make the right decision on their sun care.
Today, I am to try and do the same for you. Here's a guide to natural sun protection. Although I would say to everybody, you must go out with an adequate SPF and a great UVA protection, there are also natural techniques you can employ to aid your skin protection.
Always avoid the sun in the hottest parts of the day. This would take place between the hours of 11 and 3. Slightly changes depending on where you are but that is the key rule, avoid the sun at those times.
Maybe you take your lunch break and have a little rest, but try and avoid being out there in those times. Remember that even in the shade, the sun rays can get to you by reflection. You are not completely protected so it is vital to still have your SPF even if you sit in the shade.
Having said that, taking just a five-minute shade break every hour really helps your skin to protect itself. A great way to help your skin is to stay hydrated by keeping drinking water throughout the day to make sure that your skin is as healthy as possible. This may be able to protect you in the best way.
Think about the way we expose our skin to the sun. We all have open areas of our body that are exposed less in our day to day life. Areas like shins, our feet, can often burn more easily.
So, be extra careful with these areas. Also, build up your sun exposure gently, we all know that we can burn very quickly on the first days of holiday and maybe you can step down your protection later. And that's because our skin is thickening, it's trying to protect us.
And as soon as you start to feel that UV, it thickens and lots of air develops. This allows more protection for your skin. So, you find that if you build up your exposure gently, your skin will be more protecting itself.
Also, do use an after sun, don't be fooled in thinking that this is just a moisturiser. Look for an after sun with active ingredients. This will help the skin to protect and repair itself and get your skin ready for exposure the next day.
These are the best ways that you can protect yourself from the sun. But you do need to look always for a high SPF and a high UVA protection. But remember, take shade rest, avoid the sun in that very hot part of the midday and drink as much as water as you can. .
