A Guide To The Brachioradialis Muscle
This technique of the Brachioradialis Muscle helps with the biceps and brachialis as well. So VideoJug and massagenerd.com have joined together to present this short guide on one of the most problamatic aspects of the body - The Brachioradialis Muscle.
Step 1: Brachioradialis Explained
For the next muscle we are going to go over the Brachioradialis. So the Brachioradialis is the lateral muscle of the subperichondrial ridge of the humerus.
Step 2: Flexion
So the Brachioradialis goes right up into this region and then it goes down the styler process of the radius. It goes all the way down to here. So the main action is actually flexion of the elbow. It goes like this and it helps with the biceps and also with the brachioalis.
Step 3: Location
The easy way to locate this is actually to kind of pinch this region. So the typical referral for the Brachioradialis is that it actually goes down to the thumb region. So it actually refers all the way down to there, to the thumb area. And this is the big one to the massage therapists. We are going to have a lot of problems there, so make sure you concentrate on that region.
Step 4: Radial Deviation
The way you can actually feel it is actually to do this. This is considered on the deviation like this, and then radial deviation like this. So the ulna, radial deviation. So when you go back and forth, sometimes you can actually feel that muscle kind of popping out at you then.
Step 5: Fiber Friction
So again, you can go cross fiber friction to locate the Brachioradialis, but this muscle we are actually going to be using a lot to locate some of the other trigger points of muscles in this region.
So again, it's the most lateral muscle in the forearm region, so it's really superficial too.
