Abi Cleeve from Ultrasun is here to explain the benefits of using sun protection and the dangers associated with overexposing to UVB rays.
Hi there. I'm Abi Cleeve from Ultrasun. I've been in the sun care industry for thirteen years, really helping the people to make the right decisions on their sun care choices.
Today, I'm going to try and do the same for you. UVB rays are the rays we feel from the sun, we feel the heat and the warmth from them and we're very aware of UVB whenever we step out into the sun shine, we know it's very important to protect from UVB rays because that heat can sometimes lead to some burn and that's an indication our skin is damaged. The skin is an amazing organ that's there to protect us.
We know when we've over exposed to the UVB rays, our skin becomes sore and itchy and can even peel we often go very wet, we all know it's very important to protect from the UVB rays and we do that by selecting a high SPF sun protection. Always choose a high SPF, the higher, the better to really protect your skin. The UVB gives us problems at the short term when we see that traditional sun burn, itching, flaking and even peeling, but this damage leads to a longer term damage and that's what I'm really concerned about, just burning your self once in childhood can double the chance of skin cancer later in life, it's so important to protect the skin.
The burning feeling that we get from over exposing to the UVB rays is the skins way of telling us to get out of the sun, so when you are using a high SPF which will afford you longer protection in the sunshine. Make sure you always couple that with a good UVA protection or a broad spectrum product so that you are well protected. If you ever do overexpose to UVB, you will know about it that evening with that redness and the soreness.
It's essential that you're going to stay out of the sunshine for between three and five days until that has really recovered and make sure that you use a really high SPF in the future to prevent that damage occurring again. UVB rays are the rays we feel, make sure you protect yourself with a high SPF and keep your self as safe as possible in the sun. .
