A Guide To Women's Trousers
This is a wonderful, very informative and beneficial video which explains that there are four types of women's body shape and the kinds of trousers that will look good on each body type.
Hello! My name is Anita Feron-Clark http://feronclarkstyle.com/. I work freelance as an image consultant in association with Colour Me Beautiful http://www.colourmebeautiful.co.uk/ and today we are going to talk about various trousers. When buying your pair of women's trousers, think about your body shape first.
Women fall into four main body shapes: Hourglass, Triangle, Inverted Triangle and Rectangle. So your body shape would determine the best type of star of trousers to most flatter your shape and don't get hung up on size because, really, it's the shape fit of the trouser that matters. If you were triangle shape, it's best to wear a trouser with the straight leg.
Also keep the detailing in the hip and bottom area to a minimum. Darker colors also are better on your bottom half and then you could always counteract that by wearing brighter, more colorful clothes on your top part. So keep the line quite straight and think about darker colors on your bottom half and not to detail much around the hips and bottom.
So, some other stars that would be good for you would be something like a straight leg. For more trouses, you could have a pinstripe on it but keep the pin quite discrete. Here is another example of a good trouser for triangle shape which is also too straight leg.
You could go for dark brown with a slightly wider leg. A black wide leg trouser with a turn up, so have some detailing on your ankle. You could wear a light thick constructed wide leg trouser like this almost like a Blair and because it is a lightweight fabric, that would drape your caves very well and if you want to wear a jegging - legging over pants trousers, you could do that but please pay attention to what you wear on your top part.
If you are an inverted triangle, it's really good. Well, lots of detailing in your hip and bottom area and detailing on your waist just to balance out the slightly wider shoulder line, so these two trousers would be great for you. If you want to wear a peg trouser, it's got lots of pleat on the top, it's got bottom and it's got a waistband, great for inverted triangle.
You could wear a wide leg lining trouser in any color you like. You don't have to keep the color darker on your bottom half and you could wear details on the back like this flat pocket and quite wide belt loops. Again, detailing on your waistband is good, so any suit of pleating like this with quite a wacky belt looks great.
For denim details such as these zips and the contrast zip color, details on the other pocket with these rivets etc, really nice for inverted triangle. And the experiment with border stripes, they look really good on this body shape. If your body shape is rectangle, it's similar to inverted triangle, however, be careful about wearing a lot of details on the waistband.
It's about having details on your hips and on your bottom. So the best cloth for you would be something like a jegging where the fabric is quite soft but you've got zip pockets on the front and zip pockets at the back, but a very simple waistband. It would be a lining trouser which has pockets on the back but not too much detail on the waist band.
This is a good pair of foremen trousers where there is a completely flat waistband and finally, in denim, the best shape for rectangle is the built card with lots of contrast stitching on the back pocket and lots of detailing on the front. If you are an hourglass shape, you could basically wear any star trouser because your body line is in proportion. So you could wear a complete bootleg , a jegging, etc etc. .
