Andy Goetsch On Poker And Hold’Em Blackjack
Part One: Successful poker player Andy Goetsch talks about his experience with cards and the genesis of Hold'Em Blackjack. Learn how to play poker and the tricks of the trade from a true poker champion.
Step 1: Meet Andy Goetcsh
Hi, I'm Andy Goetcsh. Like many people, I grew up playing a lot of card games. I played bridge, pinochle, a lot of poker, a lot of blackjack. Love the games because they're all competitive. When online poker came out, I just couldn't get enough. I started playing online, winning trips to different places, winning my way to the World Series of Poker, cashing in some big tournaments, had a wonderful time there. I love getting myself up on the leaderboard by playing a lot of poker.
Step 2: Blackjack...
Blackjack has been on the scenes lately. Blackjack tournaments, particularly. And I looked at the blackjack tournaments around and never really liked what I saw there because all it dealt was a lot of luck, a lot of playing of the bankroll versus the game. You worry more about what your bankroll is versus somebody else. It was never peer to peer. It was peer against the house versus another guy against the house, and then you come up with in the end, the math geeks won the game, and that's all it was about. Math.
Step 3: Hold 'em blackjack.
Well, I'll tell you, I started thinking about poker and blackjack, how you can combine them, and get the intensity of poker with the simplicity of blackjack. I love poker so much, and I love blackjack so much, that I developed a game called Hold 'Em Blackjack.
