Angry Birds: Tips, Tricks & Cheats

Angry Birds is a casual game available for the iPod Touch, iPhone and Android. Basically, you have a catapult, you have some angry birds, you have to fire the birds at the pigs to kill them. No, I don't know why.

Okay, first tip is probably going to seem really obvious but I played the game for two weeks without even realizing so I'm going to tell you. Pinch the screen to zoom out. It's the only way you can see what's really happening.

Red birds are your basic birds but if you ever get given the others, blue, black, white or yellow, make sure you use those powers. The levels have been designed that way. Blue birds are scattershot.

You fire it off, tap the screen once, and you get three birds. There's two ways you can use them. Either use them to cover a wide range of areas or if you tap them really late, you can do a lot of focus power on a single block and knock it out straight away.

There are three different styles of block that make up the structures in Angry Birds. In order of fragility, they're wood, glass, and stone. It's very difficult to break a stone block so your best bet is to knock out anything supporting it and drop it on a pig.

Blackbirds are your heaviest ones. The best way to use those is to drop it near a low down supporting structure. The explosion after they land should take out the thing and knock out the whole tower.

The white birds lay eggs. Those are really good for two-fold attacks. Send it flying across the screen, drop an egg, which should shatter something, and if you place it properly, then the white bird will keep on flying and you can use it to take out the base and the top of a tower at the same time.
