Animals Help Us Physically And Emotionally

Emotional support animals are pets that are used as an alternative to prescription pills to help humans through difficult times in their life. Some psychiatrists choose not to prescribe drugs, but to prescribe emotional support animals instead. In this video the purpose and benefits of emotional support animals are discussed, as well as the laws regarding emotional support animals.

Step 1:
-
Pets reduce stress.
-
A family pet can offer many benefits. Love, companionship, fun, and excitement. But there's another plus not many people know about. Owning a dog or cat can actually be good for your health.
Pets are an amazing way to reduce stress. After a long day, going home and petting your animal has shown to reduce blood pressure, to reduce stress. People with pets are shown to have less stress-related illnesses.

Step 2:
-
Pets are good for the heart.
-
Pets are good for the heart. The Friedmann Study surveyed 369 heart patients. After suffering a heart attack, 28% of non-pet owners died after the first year. Patients who own pets faired much better. Less than 6% die in the same time frame. Animals can also help Alzheimer's patients. A study proved that patients exposed to dogs or even brightly colored fish were more relaxed and had better appetites. The calming effects of animals has not gone unnoticed by school administrators. Many teachers use animals to calm and motivate students.

Step 3:
-
Make each other happy.
-
Scientists aren't quite sure why pets like buddy here make us feel so terrific. But researchers believe that we are genetically wired to crave human and animal companionship. You know those naturally occurring brain chemicals? The ones that make you feel so terrific on a first date? That could be the reason we feel so great around our very own pets. Along with the benefits you receive interacting with your pet, your four legged friend will be more than happy with all the extra attention.
