I'm going to take you through a few tutorial videos to show you how to play the chords of the key C major, which is often used in country and bluegrass music also. The first chord is going to be C major. I put my ring finger on the second fret of the first string, my index finger on the first fret of the second string, and my middle finger on the second fret of the fourth string.

C major.

The next chord is F major for which I will put my little finger on the third fret of the first string, my index finger stays on the first fret of the second string, my middle finger goes on the second fret of the third string, and my ring finger goes on the third fret of the fourth string. That is F major. Now for G major, I can just strumm all the open strings to get G major or I can also place any finger really on the third fret of the first string to get a G 7, which then nicely results into C major.
