Body Building Techniques
Here's a quick guide to basic bodybuilding, with easy-to-understand exercises that will help you gain mass, build muscle, and really get into shape.
In this video, I'm going to talk to you about different bodybuilding techniques. Now, the world of bodybuilding is huge, there are thousands of different techniques, however, there are certain principles you need to stick to. The most basic principle is to have an off season, and on season.
Bodybuilders tend to have an off season where they get really, really big, and an on season where they cut down their body fat really, really low, maybe about a month or so before competition. So I'm going to talk about the stage, the off season stage, where you get really huge. Now, there's no point doing exercises which only work small muscles, like bicep curls, you want to work the big muscles to gain more mass.
So, first of all, we have shoulder press. Shoulder press develops muscle and size in your shoulders and your arms. You lift the bar up, rest on your chest, the top of your chest, one foot forward, one foot back so you're balanced, and then drive up.
We'll talk about sets and reps at the end of this video. Next, we have bent over row. This is for your back, to build mass in your back.
Bend over, lift the weight up and down, and the main technique for this - two things - one, my back stays flat, I don't bend over, stays pretty flat, and secondly, the bar goes in line with my quads, up and down, up and down. Next, we have squats. These develop size in your glutes, which is your bum, your quads, the front of your legs, and also strengthen your lower back.
For squats, lift the bar up, up and over your head, and rest it on your neck. Then, you slide your hands out wider so you're more balanced. And all you do is sit down, and then stand up, easy, down, and up.
Now, if you really want to push yourself, you can do these things called deep squats, where your bum goes all the way down, and you go all the way up. If you've got bad knees, don't do it, otherwise it's a good exercise. Now, with all these exercises, you need to make sure you do the right amount of sets and reps.
There are lots of different techniques, west side barbell training, gym and volume training, HIT training, all kinds of stuff. Essentially, you need to lift heavy. Lift heavy means you can't lift more than about twelve times, you'll get size.
And that's some techniques on how to get into bodybuilding. .
