Step 1:

Rash Guard

Your rash guard keeps you warm and safe from anything that will damage your skin. It's comfortable, with your chest on the wax and on the board. You can pick these up at any local surf shop, garage sale, or you can even check Craigslist.

Step 2:

Bodyboarding Fins

We'll move on to these fins, now these fins are in a novice level. As you can see they have many different safety straps here so you don't lose them. These right here are pretty reasonable price. Once you step up your game, you can move on to these which will cost you a little bit more, but they are a lot better. It moves through water better and it's fun.
