This Videojug film is here to show you how to make the classic Italian bruschetta. You can make it in several ways, but this is the bruschetta rubbed with garlic.

Ingredients

  • stale bread
  • 1 garlic clove

Step 1: Heat a Pan

Pre-heat a griddle pan on the hob for several minutes to a high heat, with no oil.

Step 2: Toast the Bread

Add the pieces of bread, at an angle to the ridges of the griddle pan. Count to 9 then move them to a different angle to create a lattice effect. Wait again then turn them over. Wait then move them to a different angle and finish toasting.

Step 3: Cool and Season

Remove the bruschetta onto a rack to cool, so they don't go soggy. Cut a clove of garlic in half and rub over the surface of each piece of bruschetta. Serve.
