This Videojug film is here to show you how to make the classic Italian bruschetta. You can make it in several ways, but this is the bruschetta rubbed with garlic.
Today, I'm just going to show you a really simple easy recipe. What does bruschetta mean or bruschetta? It means very, very toasted, and it's a good way of using your stale bread and making something a bit more interesting out of it. My tip to you is that the best way of cooking on the griddle is bringing out to as high heat as you can and don't put any oil on it, so leave it on the hob on maybe 5 or 6 minutes until it's furious.
What we're then going to do is put it on the 10 to 5, we're going to put those breads on 10 to 5. Just count to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and then we can turn them around to 5 past 7, you can get one drift, and then we'll turn them back around and you see you'll probably end out with a very nice lattice on there, down there, lovely. Here we go, and then back around the other side.
My advice is also, when you're going to take the bread off the griddle, just lay it on a rack because if you don't, what is going to happen is the bread is going to steam and go all soggy, so this is going to help prevent it from doing that. So, one, they go and then, for this sort of authentic Italian look, we can turn it off now. What you want to do, or feel or taste, is just rub a clove of garlic over the bread, both sides.
As you can see here, I just cut the garlic in half so you can really get the full extent of the flavor. Bruschetta, not difficult, that's how you make it. So, this literal translation of bruschetta is toast and the traditional Italian way is just by rubbing garlic on it and leaving it natural.
A lot of people like to put tomato on there, in which case, it becomes bruschetta pomodoro or tomato, but a classic bruschetta will just be toasted off and have a little garlic rubbed into it. .
