Car Buying - Who Not To Trust
VideoJug show you tips on how to sell your car, with a guide to appearance and attitude that will help you car get sold more quickly and trust you more when buying a car.
Step 1: First Impressions
First impressions count for an awful lot, whether you're going for a new job or just trying to impress a member of the opposite sex. Those first moments can be crucial, and, according to new research from ebaymotors.co.uk, the same can be said when you're buying a car.
The study has found that ninety eight percent of Brits decide whether to trust a car salesman by going on initial appearances. But what are the traits we find suspicious? Well, when put together in a photo fit they look like this.
Step 2: Appearances
First there is a bit of Liam Gallagher in there. The research says that his side burns are a big big turn off. So you wont be buying a Champagne Supervox or Nova from him.
Next the hair, now if you've got a blond mullet the stats show you can almost guarantee that you won't sell your car. People don't trust a car salesman whose hair says business at the front, but party at the back, and if you've got a mustache to go with it, that reduces your selling chances even more.
Next anybody wearing a track suit can't be trusted. In fact it's those Vicki Pollard-esque chaft track suits that are the worst.
Step 3: Accessories
Now they say that accessories make the outfit, but they will not help sell a car. Hunters don't like Lilly Allen style bombastic jewelry, and things like gold medallions.
And if you cap all of this off with a blue tooth headset you probably wont be able to give your car away.
Step 4: Car Sales Trust
So why are car buyers so untrusting of these kinds of things?
Human beings are conditioned to judge people by first appearance so anyone displaying traits like Arthur Daily probably wont be trusted. So many people now look to buy their cars online, millions using sites like ebay motors, and smart web buys take the time to visit and see if the car is right for them. So if you're selling the car make sure you make a good first impression.
So yes, it's a cruel world for car sales men who like their sports ware and a bit of bling. But I'm still going to flog this car... excuse me sir, would you like to buy a motor?
