Chocolate Transfers Around A Cake

Here is a simple yet beautiful guide to applying chocolate transfers around your iced cake. This makes any dessert extra special, so ShopCountryKitchen.com show you how best to decorate your cake with chocolate transfers.

You Will Need

  • Candy Coating or Real Chocolate
  • Chocolate Transfer Sheet
  • Perfection Strips
  • Cookie Sheet
  • Mini Pizza Cutter

Step 1:

Ice Cake

Ice the cake with icing.

Step 2:

Prepare Chocolate Transfer Sheet

Cut the chocolate transfer sheet in a strip long enough to fit around the cake.

Step 3:

Tape Transfer Sheet

Tape strips together to make it long enough -- tape smooth sides.

Step 4:

Cut According to Height of Cake

The strip should them be cut the height of the cake.

Step 5:

Place Transfer Strip on Mat

Place the cut transfer strip on top of a silicone mat, or parchment paper, textured side up.

Step 6:

Prepare Perfection Strips

Place the medium-size perfection strips on both sides of the transfer sheet.

Step 7:

Melt

Melt candy coating or melt and temper chocolate.

Step 8:

Pour

Pour over half of the transfer sheet, spreading it to nearly the edge.

Step 9:

Smooth

Use a cookie sheet with a straight edge and drag over the perfection strips.

Step 10:

Wait 5-10 Minutes

Allow to almost set (generally 5-10 minutes).
***Don't let it set too long, or it will crack when putting it around the cake.***

Step 11:

Place Around Cake

Quickly pick up the strip and put around the cake.

Step 12:

Wait for 20-30 Minutes

Let set for 20-30 minutes.

Step 13:

Remove

Remove strip.

Step 14:

Prepare Transfer Sheet for Top

To make the top, cut a circle from the transfer sheet using the pan as the stencil.

Step 15:

Place Circle on Mat

Place cut circle on a silicone mat or parchment paper.

Step 16:

Pour

Pour melted chocolate over the transfer sheet.

Step 17:

Smooth

Use a cookie sheet with a straight edge and drag over the perfection strips.

Step 18:

Wait 5-10 Minutes

Allow to set up until it is almost set (generally 5-10 minutes).

Step 19:

Remove

Peel off transfer sheet and place circle on iced cake.

Step 20:

Finish

Finish the cake with a shell border and garnish with strawberries.

so difficult. but once you want to eat it you need to take out the plastic

Actually, if you watch REALLY carefully, at 4:43 in the video you'll see light reflected in the plastic STILL LEFT on the parchment paper. So the top of the cake does not have plastic on it.

If you watch very careful, when she cut the top out of the transfer sheet, the plastic was left with the excess chocolate....
