The six strings on a guitar EAD GBE all need to be tuned before you start to play to ensure a good sound. Never play your guitar if it is out of tune. Learn how to tune your guitar using an electric tuner.

Place the electric tuner on your knee, well balanced in front of the sound hole and make sure it is switched on. Generally, most electric tuners have a bar in the middle with a needle.

Play the string and tuner should read the note of the guitar. The needle may veer to the left. If it does it means the string is flat and too low and if it veers to the right it means the note is sharp and too high.

Use the tuning peg to adjust the string so that the needle on the tuner is central on the dial, meaning the string is in tune. Tune all of the strings of the guitar and then you are ready to play!
