Get The Look : Colourama
Looking to inject some colour into your outfit? Clara Dorothy Perkins and Phillipa Louise will show you how in this quick autumn/winter Colourama guide.
Today we're here to show you how to get the Colourama look.
And I'm going to show you how to complete this look by using Rimmel London products.
You may still be in holiday mode, but here in fashion land, we're way, way into autumn/winter.
Colour is one of the biggest messages coming off the catwalks - everybody from Burberry to Victoria Beckham. Lady Gaga recently did this look in head-to-toe blue. She even dyed her hair - which we're not asking you to do.
Bandy Newton would also look beautiful in this look, and I'm here to show you how to get it. We're not saying head-to-toe colour is the easiest thing to do, but seen here on Kylie, it looks absolutely amazing. Notice she's got her tights matched to her dress, matched to her ming wool coat which is really cool for the season.
She looks very 60s, very hip. Head-to-toe colour can be scary, but please don't be scared. You don't have to wear it all the way from head to toe, but you can just inject a little colour, whether it be a fabulous pair of shoes or a clutch bag.
So, as you can see, this rail is just a rainbow of colour. A circular cut dress is a key item for this season, and this is a great way to get colour into your wardrobe. As I said, you can match your tights to it, or you can wear it with Spandex when it's still warm outside, or you can put black tights with it.
And another way to get this colour into your wardrobe is through the minimal shirt. So you can wear it either with your black trousers and your mini-skirt or with matching trousers for the head-to-toe colour look.
When talking about the Colourama look, it's all about concentrating on those block colours.
Now what we want to do here is we want to choose a really, really bright colour to really make those eyes pop. And what I'm using is the Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eyeliner in Aqua Sparkle. It's got a really, really soft end to it.
The reason why I'm putting it underneath the bottom of the eyelash is so that you can really see the eyes pop. You can intensify it by using the Glamour Eyes Mono Eyeshadow in Posh Peacock. If you want to intensify the colour a little bit more, you can actually dip the brush in water first.
I'm literally just going to dust it over, all the way to the socket line, really, really lightly. The next step to really make those eyes dramatic is to pop a bit of mascara on the lashes, and I've chosen to use the Glamour Eyes Date Tonight Mascara. The reason why is you've got two sections: you've got your lengthening section and your volumising section.
Now I think for this look we want to have a bit more volume, so we'll just get the voluming side here, and really work from the root, and zigzag from the root to the very end of the lashes. So now that we've got the mascara on the eyes, I'd quite like to make the look quite a bit more dramatic, so we're just going to define the eyebrows. Now, a lot of people forget about the eyebrows on the face, they really do shape and frame the face.
To finish this look off, I personally think that no look is complete without a bit of a pop of colour on the lips - I do love a bit of colour. So, we're going to be using the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Firecracker. It's a really, really beautiful, "coraly" colour that's going to work very will with the outfit.
What's great about this lipstick as well: it's got a really, really nice shimmer to it. If you want to make it glossy afterward, you can do by using one of the Vinyl Lip Glosses.
