Golf - Trick Shot 1: Drive Set Up On Your Knees

Step 1: The set-up

To hit a drive from a kneeling position, start by teeing the ball up higher than normal.

This will make it easier to get a good contact when you swing.

Then, kneel down and set up to the ball on your knees.

Spread your knees wide apart for better balance.

Keep your body and hands upright.

And you are now in the correct position to take your swing.

Step 2: The swing

Because of your low set-up position, the club will travel flat around your body.

As a result, it approaches the ball too far from the inside.

As explained in our video, "why you hit fat", from this low swing plane, the club tends to hit behind the ball.

To prevent this, use your arms to swing the club into the ball at a steeper angle.

It is easier to make a clean contact if during the swing you imagine you want to land the club head in front of the ball.

It usually takes a few tries to get the hang of it, but eventually you will be able to hit long and spectacular drives from a kneeling position.
