Guitar - A Major 7 Chord

Before you start to play check that your guitar is in tune. Watch our other films on how to tune your guitar, if you are unsure.

Play the first finger on the root note of A on fret 5, the second finger on fret 5 on the B string, the third finger plays the major 7 on fret 6 on the D string and the small finger also on fret 6 on the G string.

Practise using the first finger to also dampen the sound of the A string up up up down up down up down up …...

Once you are familiar with them practise moving from chord to chord, so that your notes do not have any buzzing or humming sounds. The progressions should sound fluid and smooth with practise.
