Guitar - A Minor Chord

Here is a short instructional video which will show you how to play the A Minor Chord on your guitar. This easy guitar chord us quick and simple to learn.

Before you start to play check that your guitar is in tune. Watch our other films on how to tune your guitar, if you are unsure.

To play the A minor chord, your first finger goes on to the second string, in the first fret. The second finger goes on the D string in the second fret and the third finger goes on the G string, second fret.

This chord is played from an open A, strung from the A string upwards.

Practise strumming the chord.

Try releasing the first finger from the second string whilst downward strumming to create an on, off, on, off pattern. This adds some melody to the chord.

Once you have got the hang of it try doing a strumming progression from A minor to A to E. Continue practising so that the chords do not make any buzzing or humming sounds.
