To play a bar chord in the root of G in the third fret bottom string, place the first finger all the way across from the third fret bottom string using the second finger to support the first finger, then bring across the third finger to fret 5 on the A string.

Practise playing a reggae rhythm such as the skank beat down, 2 and 4 always on the off beat. Play adding C chord 1, up, 3, C, up and C. 1 is the root note which is G, practice 1, up, up, C, down and up

Once you are familiar with them practise moving from chord to chord, so that your notes do not have any buzzing or humming sounds. The progressions should sound fluid and smooth with practise.
