We all know it's important to save for retirement, but many of us don't know when to actually start. Here are some tips on how to save for retirement.
I'm going to talk to you about how much to save for retirement. This really depends, though, on your age and the point that you start the process. The younger you are, the easier it is.
That might seem odd but that's the point where you have the greatest time on your side. As the longer you have at your disposal, the easier it is to accumulate the sum that you need in retirement. As an example, if you are under thirty, you should be looking to allocated good ten percent of your monthly income towards your retirement planning.
As you move into your forties and fifties, that figure would undoubtedly have to increase but at least you've made good inroads into the process initially. However, if you choose leaving the commencement of the process past your thirties and even to your forties, you're going to have to put away an awful lot more to build out the shortfall in a much shorter space of time. Therefore, you cannot underestimate the power of starting as early as possible.
Remember, when planning with how much you need to save for retirement, think less about the actual fund that you might need to accrue at the point you choose to retire and more so about the amount you need to allocate each month from your monthly income. This, remember, it will get harder the longer you leave it. .
