How To Add Volume By Backcombing Your Hair
Flat fine hair can be raised to new heights by backcombing. This simple technique is used for both easygoing and highly polished hair styles.
So, the hair is quite fine. We need to put quite a bit of body in it, so that's going to be for your backcombing. And you can start either at the back or the front so I'm going to start at the front today, work my way back with the backcombing and then we'll put in the ponytail.
You don't have to be too neat with the backcombing, because obviously you're going to brush it up into the ponytail anyway. So it depends on what kind of style you want to go for. If you want to go for something a bit looser and bohemian, then you can be quite messy with your backcombing.
If you want to go for something a big more neat and polished, then take a bit more time over it with smaller sections. So I'm just sectioning off the top part of the hair, just so I can get a good backcomb on it. And when I backcomb, I'm just teasing the hair from the root and moving upwards, just using that motion, and that's going to give me a really nice backcomb without making it too messy on the outside.
Okay, so I've gone through and I've backcombed the roots. I've got the height that I want, and that's how you backcomb hair. Flat fine hair can be raised to new heights by backcombing.
