How To Apply '80s Makeup

Play along as Natasha applies eighties style makeup to our lovely model. Think Cyndi Lauper, Annie Lennox, Boy George, clashing and daring colors contrasting each other.

Hi. Now, I'm going to show you how to do an eighties makeup. Okay, eighties to me is Cyndi Lauper, Annie Lennox, Boy George, lots of clashing colors, just really strong, strong makeup.

Again, all the rules are out the window, strong blush, strong eyes, strong lips. I'm going to go for a pink/purple/blue rainbow effect, as I call it. It reminds me of the eighties.

I'm going to start at the inner corner. I've wet the eye shadows just to make them a little stronger and then putting dry eye shadow on top to blend it. I want it to be really bold, though, so I'm not going to blend too much.

Slightly going slanted with the color, I'm pushing up. And again, the rules with taking up to the brow out the window with eighties makeup, you go right up with the color, filling the whole eye area. Then the last color I'm going to put on is blue.

I'm really going to drag it out there. I'll get a clean brush and blend this. But you don't want to blend too much because you really want to keep the colors separate.

They're supposed to clash and be bold. I'm going to drag it right up to the temple. I'm going to get the blue that I've used on the outer corners and take it underneath and join it at the sides.

Don't worry about the color dropping underneath, I'm going to clean it up and then put the face on last. Put a bit more pink here. Then purple in the center.

Just certain mirrors what you've done on the top lid or just keep it all one color, it's up to you, lots of black mascara and lots of eyeliner. There will be a lot of contouring in the eighties, so I'm going to put a little bit of shimmer. Suck your cheeks in, I'm going to really take the blush right up to the temples as well, so you've got the highlighter in between the blue and then your matte blush in the hollows right up to the top.

You can even put the blush up here for really strong Boy George style. Eighties lips can be anything from bright red to really frosty pale pink. So, I'm going to go for a little frost on the lips.

And there's your eighties look. .
