How To Apply Cream Blush
In this video, makeup artist Myriam shares one of the rules with makeup which is cream on cream. So, the perfect finish to your foundation is a cream blush.
Hi, I'm Myriam. I'm a makeup artist and today, I'm going to show you loads of different looks on how to apply different eye shadows, different coloured eye shadows, create some classic looks but also some wild looks to go out. Hi.
I'm now going to show you how to apply creamy blusher. So, in order to apply blusher, you absolutely need to have a perfect face. So, first of all, we are going to apply foundation.
So, I have moisturized my skin, put my eye cream and I've also applied a primer to my foundation. As I'm applying foundation, it's very important because if you apply a creamy blusher to the skin, the skin is never completely perfect so your creamy blusher is not going to look good because it's going to be drunk by the skin and it won't look nice at all, it would look patchy and you don't want a patchy look, really. You want something really nice and smooth.
So, I'm applying my foundation with my brush, so flat movements, long nice strokes with the brush all over the cheeks, on the chin area. For the neck, you don't have to go on the neck, you just blend in what you've got left on your brush there and you also do your forehead. You don't have to put the foundation everywhere or you apply it wherever you think you need, so most of the time, it will be nose area and cheeks.
We don't all need foundation on the forehead so if you don't want to put any, you just use what you have left on your brush and just give a quick wipe with your brush. So, now, my skin is looking a lot better. So now, I'm going to apply a concealer under the eyes, so I like to use creamy concealer because the thick one is too much under the eyes whereas the creamy one is nice and soft and smooth.
If you use one that is quite hydrating, you are not going to have any mask and that will complete my really nice blank canvas to work on to be able to apply my blusher and the rest of my makeup. Fantastic! So, I'm not going to apply any powder because I want to use a creamy blusher and the creamy blusher needs to be applied on a cream. So, the rule with makeup is cream on cream and powder on powder.
So, what I'm doing here is I'm taking a little bit of my creamy blusher and I start from the middle gently and I'm going to rub around. So, in a circular movement, and creamy blushers are fantastic because they give you the absolutely beautiful natural glowing finish, and I'm going to do the same on the other side, so a little circular movement here and just blending outwards, and you can apply your blush – there's all sorts of different ways but the one that always works is high on the cheekbones. That's always nice and it works pretty much on any face shape so I quite like to do that to most of my models.
Fantastic! Okay, so that gives you that absolutely beautiful very natural finish with the creamy blusher. With the cream blusher, if you're going to use a face powder on the top, it's going to spoil the effect. The only thing is your creamy blusher is not going to last as long as the powder blush but it really gives you that lovely natural finish.
And this is my finished look for the blusher. So, I hope you enjoyed all the different looks we created for you. If you want any more details, you can always go on my website. .
