How To Apply Eyeshadow Bollywood Style

If you want to know how to apply your eyeshadow Bollywood style, look no further. VideoJug has teamed up with Naveeda, award-winning Bollywood makeup artist, to bring you a step by step guide to how to create this look.

Step 1: Light Colour

With a medium sized brush, sweep a light coloured, powdered eyeshadow over the entire eyelid. Use powdered eyeshadow as opposed to cream eyeshadow, as it's easier to blend and is longer lasting.

Step 2: Darker Colour

With a small brush, go over the outline of the crease of the eyelid using a darker shade. Here, we're using pinks, so the colour going onto the crease of the eyelid is purple. Blend the colour in with a blending brush to stop it looking too harsh.

Step 3: Browbone

With a large brush, sweep a very pale shade of the colour you are using across the brow bone and underneath the eyebrow. In this instance, we are using a very pale, barely visible pink.

Step 4: Blend

Take your small brush again and blend the purple colour you used for the crease of the eyelid down to the corners of the eyes. This helps to define the shape of the eye.

Step 5: Vibrant Eyeliner

Take a fine eyeliner brush and dab it in water. Then take a vibrant shade of eyeshadow and gently blend it into the water. TOP TIP: You can do this with any eyeshadow and any colour to create a coloured liquid eyeliner. Make sure it is not too runny - it should be a paste like consistency and sit nicely on the brush.
Gently apply this to the top of the eyelid as you would apply eyeliner. The colour should be noticeably stronger than the colour you have applied to the eyelid.

Step 6: Black Eyeliner

Once you have done this, again take a very thin eyeliner brush, and gently apply small dabs of black eyeliner to the top of the eyelash, so it meets the coloured eyeliner you have just applied. This emphasises the shape of the eye and helps to bring them out.

Step 7: Highlighter

Next, take an angled brush, and apply a coating of highlighter underneath the eyebrow. Then gently apply this underneath the eye, to the corner where it meets the bridge of the nose.
