How To Apply Face Shimmer

Hi. Today, I'm going to show you how to apply face shimmer. Now, you can get it in very different formulas, you can get it in a liquid version or you can get it in a loose powder version or you can get it in a pressed formula version as well.

Today, I'm going to go with the loose powder. The best way of applying this is with a large fluffy brush, however if it does have a pointed tip to it, that really does help get the look that you're really looking for because face shimmer is supposed to be applied where you would want to catch the natural light on the face. So, going over here, we've already applied foundation and concealer and pressed powder to the actual face and we're going to be going along with the shimmer powder just gently across the forehead to where the light would catch, down the nose, top of the Cupid's bow, bottom of the chin, and along the cheekbones' top here.

A lot of celebrities tend to have this look here and it works really well to catch the natural light and draw attention to the face. Just press the tip of the brush into the shimmer powder, just picking up a small amount. You don't want too much, because it will just add too much sparkle to the face.

Tap off the excess. We're going to go across the forehead first. Gentle sweep motions, there you can see it's really attracting a lot of nice light to the forehead.

Then, down the center of the nose, top of the Cupid's bow, this will draw attention to the lip area as well and then the bottom of the chin. And then this is the prominent part of the cheek bone, so you just need to gently sweep it across there and then around in a 'C' motion, the top of the eyebrow and this will really attract a lot of light to this area here. Same on the other side, along the cheekbone, just the top of it and along the brow bone, so you're creating a 'C' there.

You can actually apply this to the collar bone area as well to attract more light, and you just sweep it across, blending it toward the neck area as well. So what I did over here, you apply the shimmer powder to the top of the forehead, down the center of the nose, Cupid's bow, chin area, and then in a 'C' motion across the top of the cheekbone and along the brow bone. And that's how to apply face shimmer powder. .
