How To Apply Gel Eyeliner

Hello! My name is Karla Barchieri and I'm a freelance makeup artist and today I'm going to show you a few makeup tips. And now I'm going to show you how to apply gel eyeliner. I got this gel eyeliner from MAC.

I find that that is my preferred gel eyeliner you can find it also from Bobbi Brown and other major brands but this is very easy to apply and the best thing is that it is water resistant. all you do literally is you either take a little bit with a pallet or with your brush if it is clean you put it inside your pot as you can see I use mine a lot and if you have a pallet use it otherwise you can put it on your hand, rest the brush, I would recommend an angled sized brush, a small one and just rest it so that you can get rid of the excess of the product and you will see that is very creamy. It actually moves quite well and this is how it's going to move on the eye lid as well.

Ok, either on yourself or on someone else, you ask them to close their eyes and I intend to start from the end of the eye to the circle but do remember that whatever you are going to place the brush is where most of the product is going to lay so try to always go towards the end of the eye because that side is where the eye liner will be thicker and position the angle brush the same way that the angle of the eyes is leading out, if that makes sense. And just pretty much push that to her eyelid very close to the lashes, you can sweep a little and the push again and then you are going to turn and you're going to move toward the begging of the eye pretty much where the lashes start, don't just do it at the beginning and just place it there, push it in and then sweep a little bit. Join those two lines that you have created and that's it really.

And you can grab a little bit more as thick or as thin as you want. Some people like that kind of wing-outlook. Do remember that the eye liner is there to make your eye lashes look thicker in consistency, so it's up to you what to do after that.

in this case we're going to bring it up a little bit and just make sure that there is no gap between the lash line and the liner. Okay, so open your eyes for me please. That's perfect! You can finish this look by either going all the way on your eyelid to the begging of the eye or pretty much leave it like that.

I like it this way but just for the sake of the video I'm going to show you, so if you could look that way for me and all you're going to do is use the angle of the brush. So with the brush just angle that and just join the line and just push it in very gently. Every time you work with your eyes do it gently and slowly, there's no rush.

One thing I will say, gel eye liners tend to dry very quickly, so if you are working around your eye, you can take your time but you may have to go back to your product and put a little bit more, so my suggestion would be put a little bit to start with and then start topping up whenever you need a little bit more. So don't just put a big chunk on your pallet or on your hand because if it takes a while it is going to dry. Ok now just go on the other eye.

Ok, now I'm going to have a look at her because obviously I want her to have even lines on her eyes. Ok, close your eyes for me please. Ok that's perfect; I'm just going to slightly bring it up a little.

Open your eyes for me, if you could just look that way for me please so that I could bring and as you can see I'm just going to position that brush, you don't have to do much with this brush, s o just position it and the angle of it enables you to actually do what you need to do. And that is how gel eyeliners are applied.
