How To Apply Green Eyeshadow

This video shows how to apply a basic green eye shadow, build it up with a smoky green look, and make it look fabulous without much effort.

Hello, my name is Karla Barchieri. I'm a freelance makeup artist, and today, I'm going to show you a few makeup tips. Now, I'm going to show you how to apply green eye shadows.

I always find the best way to do this is to put two shades of eye shadow colour, in this case, green. So, I'm just going to get my first shade and with my eye shadow brush, my flat eye shadow brush, I just load it in using my hand. I use my hand as a palette and I'm just going to press this product on my model's lid like so.

Instead of sweeping the product, I'm just literally dabbing the product along. That's all I'm doing, and you can go back for more and put as many layers as you feel so it is up to you how strong you want this eye shadow or not. But this is a basic eye shadow because you can build it up with black and you can make a smoky green.

So, it's up to you. But to start with, let's say this is going to be your first step. Now that I have applied my first shade, I just put it across the lid and I didn't finish the end of the eye because on the end of the eye, I want to apply a stronger green.

This is what's going to contour my model's eye, and again with your eye shadow brush, just literally press, press, press, press there and now, just press with the brush straight and just contour on the eye socket, just inside the eye socket. Don't go outside it, just inside, and I wouldn't reach the beginning of the eye. Just literally leave it there because eventually if you want to build this makeup up, we can put a highlight in the beginning and on the brow bone and etc.

You can see that this is a very strong makeup so it doesn't need too much. All I'm going to do is to blend these two shades so that the end is not as strong and the lines are softer as they disappear across the face. And without any gimmicks or a mascara, without doing anything, you can already see that it's a beautiful eye shade you should choose.

After, you can take another shadow brush and just go under the eye and pretty much just go all the way and you can make this, again, fade away. It's up to you what you want to do with it but as simple as that, you contour your eye. And this is how you apply green eye shadow. .
