How To Apply Lip Makeup

Hi. I'm Faye from simplyfaye dot co dot uk. I've been a makeup artist for 20 years and I'm going to give you some tips on how to apply makeup.

In this video, I'm going to show you how to apply lip makeup. The best way to apply lip makeup is with a lip brush. I'm using a disposable lip brush for hygiene reasons.

If you are using it on yourself, then you can use the same brush but make sure it's cleaned in between. I would load up the brush with whatever color you wish to apply. I'm now going to come onto the lips with my lip brush and I'm going to apply the lipstick.

What you're doing is you're following the contour of the lips and you're filling in with color. Do this gradually and gently. The idea is to start with less and build up the color as you go along.

If you make any mistakes, or you go over the line, then you can always touch in with a cotton bud just to remove the color and then go over again. And the fashion now is to have quite bold lips and the reason why we're using a lip brush is so you can get a perfect Cupid's bow. So, you just gently want to shape that Cupid's bow using the tip of your brush.

To get the perfect shape takes a bit of time. If you make any smudges, just come on with a cotton bud and just gently take them out. You can also use a bit of powder just to refine the edges again with your cotton bud.

Just some translucent powder and that helps create a good shape to the lips. And that's how to apply lip makeup. .
