How To Apply Lip Moisturizer

Lip moisturizer is really good if you've got dry chapped lips. It comes in many different forms. It can come is a squeezy tube bottle like this or in little pots.

Some people just like to use Vaseline or ChapStick. They are very cheap ways of moisturizing your lips. You can also get moisturizers with exfoliating products in them which are particularly good if your lips are flaky because then you can apply and it will exfoliate your lips which will make the lipstick go on much better.

Lip moisturizers can also be mixed with lipstick to create a sheerer look. So for instance, if you've got red and you didn't want it to be too intense, you could mix it with a bit of lip moisturizer and thin it down and it will go on much more glossy rather than a solid colour. The best way to apply lip moisturizer is really just with your fingertips.

I'm going to show you now how to apply a lip moisturizer. I'm squeezing it onto the back of my hand because this one's quite a creamy one and you only need a little bit and I'm just going to use my ring finger and I'm going to dot it on the lips and then just smooth it in and ask your client to smack her lips together just to ensure that it's coated evenly. It's a good idea to wait for the lip moisturizer to sink in a little bit if you do want to apply a full colour.

If you want a glossy look, then I would apply the lipstick straight afterwards but if you want a solid colour, then wait for that to dry probably for about half an hour and then put the colour on top. And that's how you apply lip moisturizer. .
