Step 2:
-
Moisturise with lip balm
-
Before you begin, ensure that your lips are smooth and moisturised. If need be, apply a little lip balm with a lip brush and wait a few minutes for it to be absorbed. Then blot with a folded tissue.
-
Step 3:
-
Foundation
-
Use foundation to prevent 'feathering' (which is when lipstick gets into the creases) and to define the lips. Start by pouring a small amount onto the back of your hand. Use your finger or a sponge to apply it to your lips.
-
Step 4:
-
Powder
-
Set the foundation in place by dusting the area with a little translucent powder.
-
Step 5:
-
Colours
-
Dark matt colours can make lips appear small and hard. As a general rule soft colours with a light sheen will be most flattering. They will make the lips appear fuller without making any wrinkles stand out.
-
Step 6:
-
Pencil
-
With a soft, warm coloured pencil carefully outline the lips. Make sure your pencil is sharp and do not go outside the natural line of your lips.
-
Step 7:
-
Lipstick
-
Use a lip brush to apply the lipstick, this will give you more control.
Build up thin layers at a time with small amounts.
Start in the centre of you lips and work outwards towards your lip line.
-
Step 8:
-
Blot and Reapply
-
Fold a tissue in half and place it in between your lips to blot the lipstick from the lips. Reapply for added longevity. Powder over the blotted lipstick. Then reapply a second layer.
-
Step 9:
-
Gloss
-
Finally a dab of gloss on the middle of the bottom lip will create the illusion of a fuller lip.
