How To Apply Pink Eyeshadow

Pink eye shadow is always trendy. But it only works wonders if you know how to apply it. So, here's a makeup tip.

Hello, my name is Karla Barchieri. I'm a freelance makeup artist, and today, I'm going to show you a few makeup tips. Now, I'm going to show you how to wear a pink eye shadow.

I have already prepped my model's skin so I'm going to go straight for the eye shadow. You can go for any type of eye shadow including blusher, actually. You'll be surprised how popular a blusher is for eye shadow application.

Once you've prepped your eye, I'm going to use this one. This is Bramble Frost from Boots and it's a very beautiful frosty pink and this is going to be the first colour that I'm going to apply on my model. Close your eyes for me please.

As I apply it, I'm just going to dab the product on her eyes. This will help me to put as much Bramble as possible without having that much fall-out. Okay, I'm now going to the other eye.

Also, when using the brush upside down, I'm making sure that I've reached the lash line so that I get as close to the lash line as possible and I don't get any gaps between the eye shadow and the lash line if it makes sense. So now, I'm going to turn around my brush, put it straight and now, again, I'm just going on the area that I didn't cover on the eye. It's going to be just over the crease and that's it, and again on the other side.

So, once I have that, I could blend this out to nothing. I could actually apply a darker shade of pink to contour her eye which is want I'm going to do but – if you could just open your eyes for me please – you can see right then and there, this is a look that she can go out with, anyway. What we can also do is apply a little bit of the eye shadow underneath, on her lower eyelashes, you can use the same brush.

So, it's going to brighten her eye a little bit there. We brighten up that area, okay. So now, I'm going to use a different colour of pink and this is from Mac.

My palettes are out and I'm going to contour her eye just to make sure I'm using this pen brush to do that and I'm just going around the socket of her eye. That's exactly where I'm pressing right on the socket of her eye and again I'm putting it on the other side. I'm just following her eye, really.

I'm not doing anything else other than following what is there. Up and round, so I go all the way and you can feel the actual eye socket right here and this is where we want to go, okay. Once you have both colours there, you get your blending brush and you pretty much blend both products, okay.

Just where they meet, that's exactly where you want to go with it. You can go back and put a little bit more of the first or second product, whichever you want to, if you feel that the coverage is not that strong. And on that line that you meet the two products, the two eye shadow shades, that's exactly where you're going to sweep and again you do the same on the other eye.

Beautiful! So, her eyes are really bright. All I'm going to apply now is going to be a brown colour just to harmonize so that she doesn't look too pink. So, when you're thinking pink, depending on the look you're planning, I would suggest that use another colour.

It could be gray. Gray's another colour that usually, with pink, goes very well, or black, I find that too strong. It depends what you're going to do if it's a night look or how strong you're going to go.

But in this case, I'm going to use brown and it's just to really just tone down that bright pink and make sure that she looks natural like ready for office work. I'm going right on the lash line. That's exactly where I'm going to go and I'm pretty much putting this colour there so it's going to be a very natural application so it's not going to be strong at all.

She's going to look really natural and this is what you want for this look. And again, I'm lifting her lid to make that I get right on the lash line and as you can see, I'm not sweeping them. Just pretty much pressing in the colour right where her lashes are and you will find that if you lift th
