The person who commented above that you shouldn't use your fingers to apply eyeshadow is an idiot. All cosmetic experts say your finger is your best tool. The only caution is to make sure it is a freshly-washed finger. :) I think you did a great job, and it doesn't matter that you're using discontinued products because EVERY cosmetic line has some form of the colors you used. Your tone of voice is very pleasant as an instructive one and the tips you give are more helpful than those I find in magazines.
