How To Apply Rhinestone Iron On Transfers

Crystals R Us shows how to apply rhinestone iron on transfer

Hi! My name is Lalji Varsani from Crystals R Us. Today, we will show you various aspects of how to apply iron on items. Today I will show you how to apply iron on rhinestone transfers on to a t-shirt.

So place a t-shirt you like on a hard surface, choose a design or motif made in rhinestones, for example I got this phoenix. You can pick designs up from any craft shops or the internet you get thousands of designs and themes. I'm gonna show how to place this phoenix image on to a t-shirt.

Firstly, you peel, you peel the motif and discard the white packing alright. Place it on the t-shirt. You need to position it how you want.

Look back and see if you're happy with that. If you're not then you can reposition it as you want. And once you're happy with that get a hot iron and cover it in a piece of paper or thin handkerchief or anything cloth.

This is to protect the t-shirt and the rhinestones. Then apply hot heat for 20 seconds on the motif. Don't run by cause this can move the crystals and damage the design.

When you apply heat, it's always good to apply a little bit of pressure so that the heat travels down through the crystals and then the glue on the base. Okay once you have applied enough heat, let the plastic cool for about 10 to 15 seconds to ensure the glue is stuck well and dried on the t-shirt. Then slowly at one corner gently peel away.

If you feel the crystals are coming off, that shows that not enough glue has been applied, you need to apply a bit more heat. Okay that should be roughly enough now. Peel off from one side.

There, that's the motif applied on to a t-shirt. Now you can actually get individual crystal rhinestones. Spread them around to give special effects.

If you pour some on the t-shirt, and you can place them around the phoenix. Save this one from the bottom of the phoenix, place the crystals as you want, move them around first. Cover with the sheet of this, then apply heat.

There you are. Now we have a t-shirt made with rhinestones and that takes about 2 to 3 minutes to make and on the front you can actually have anything else you want so you can customize a t-shirt on both sides. And that's how to make a rhinestone transfer.
