Hi. My name's Jenny, and we're here at Wimbledon Village Stables, and today we're going to be looking at the different aspects of horse riding and horse care. First of all you've got to make that you have a decent head collar with no breaks or tears, and to make sure it's nice and safe, and a secure rope that's long enough for you to be able to lead your horse at a decent clip.

Make sure before you go in, the head collar's ready. So undone, and make sure that your clips are free and you're able to put it on nice and swiftly without upsetting the horse. Before you go into the box, our box is lucky enough to have a chain but some doors will be shut, so when you go in, make sure you tell the horse that you're coming in.

Get his attention, especially if his bottom is facing this way. You want to make sure his head's at this end of the door. So before you go in, tell him that you're coming in.

I know this horse really well, so I know that he doesn't mind me coming into the box. When you come in, if you've got a chain, make sure you put it up so your horse is nice and secure. Otherwise, make sure you shut the door after you so that he can't get out.

OK. When you're in the box, get your head collar ready so the loop where his nose is going to go is facing away from you. Everything you do with a horse you do on the left-hand side.

So we're going to ask him to bring his head up. Chester! Good boy! Ok, now, Chester's very used to this so I'm just going to make sure that he's seen it. Slip his nose through the hole.

OK, and then the big strap comes over the other side, around his ears, and you just clip it on. Put it through the clip. OK.

Make sure it's nice and secure and you can fit your hand through, but you don't want it too tight. And then with your rope on, you're ready to go and he's ready to be lead and tied up wherever you want him.
