How To Arrange A Fall Bouquet
Making a fall bouquet has never been easier. Watch this clip from VideoJug to learn how.
Hi. My name is Alexandra Lyons and I'm a master florist. I create floral displays for celebrity homes, events, weddings and special occasions.
This is how to do a fall bouquet. I'm going to start with some viburnum. I'm going to try to use flowers you can grow in your garden or be able to grow in your garden.
So, I have 3 stems of viburnum here and I'm going to add some lovely autumnal hydrangea. You place the flowers in your hand in a spiral and hold them between your thumb and forefinger. You can then open your hand and add more flowers.
Got some lovely heather or erica here which just comes into season in the fall. It can be quite floppy this time of year, hydrangea, so it's quite nice to have the other flowers to hold them up. I'm going to add a few roses and a few chrysanthemums.
These bloomed chrysanthemums are in season and also grow in a garden in fall. They remind me that Christmas is on the way. And let's add a few roses.
This one is a peach avalanche. I'm sticking those in between the chrysanthemum blooms and then another. These aren't entirely fall flowers but the colors are so lovely with the hydrangea and the roses.
I may try a few calla lilies. Now, I'm going to cut the stems and wrap it. When you cut, make sure the stems are a third the length of the overall design.
This will help it balance visually and actually you can measure it if you wish or use your eye. There are lots to cut. Make sure the stems are clean below the tie point because this will be the bit that goes into the vase.
This can go straight into a vase as well so you need to have all that work done. I'm just going to tie a piece of raffia around to hold it all in place. You can use twine and if you wish, you can add some wrapping to the rest.
Don't cover the flowers with the wrapping because it damages them and also if you keep the wrapping low, it will make the flowers look bigger. And I'm going to put one more piece of raffia around and tie in a bow. And there we have it.
This is how you make a fall bouquet. .
