How To Arrange A Hydrangea Bouquet
Hydrangeas come in different classifications and colours and knowing how to arrange them in a bouquet as a present would bring it more colour and meaning.
Hi, my name is Alexandra Lyons and I'm a master florist. I create floral displays for celebrity homes, events, weddings and special occasions. I'm going to share some tips with you on flower arranging.
I'm going to show you how to do a hydrangea bouquet. I'm just going to pick up some flowers. I'm going to use some sedan mixed with hydrangeas.
These are both flowers that can be grown in the garden and a lot of florists and flower arrangers do have them already available in their garden. Okay, I'm going to use a bouquet holder for this one. Okay, so this is quite pretty with some feathers and it will accentuate the hydrangeas.
Start off by pulling off any stems that are going to be below the tie point where you're going to tie your bouquet. You can use these leaves on other flower arrangements. I'm going to start by placing a hydrangea in and squeezing the Y here, and just put it to the edge so it's not sticking out too far and it's not too deep.
If you put something in deep, it will make the whole of it look small, and then I'm going to place this sedan in and then another hydrangea. I' m spiralling them in as well. This makes them hold together better.
Just move those leaves around because they're really lovely. Another piece of sedan and I'm going to pick up another one for the center. So, work your way around the bouquet starting at one side, and the last hydrangea in there, it's that pretty.
Just cut your stems that's about a third of the length of the overall design. That will mean it will balance better. And I'm just going to tie it and then put some tissue paper around it so you can give it as a gift.
This is holding together quite well so you don't need to tie it yet. Get some tissue paper and fold it on an angle. Darker colours are better against flowers than lighter colour from the tissue and wrapping.
So, place that right down under the base and it's a lovely posy. These are wrapped here and wind that around on both sides, and a bow. That's it, a nice simple bouquet to give as a present and this is how to do a hydrangea bouquet. .
