Step 1: You will need…

Step 2: Mark the position

You can fit your door numbers anywhere you like, but it is standard to fit them in the centre of the door, half way between the Yale lock and the top of the door. We're measuring the distance between the lock and the top of the door and marking the half way point, then finding the horizontal centre point of the door and making a mark where the two points cross.

Step 3: Screw-on door numbers

We'll be screwing on the number 10. First, we're attaching the zero, so holding it in position just to the right of the pencil mark and marking through the screw holes with a pencil.

Select a narrow drill bit which matches the width of the screws. Attach it to the drill.

Remember drill safety; Put on your goggles, make sure all loose items of clothing and hair are tucked away, clear the area of any potential hazards and find a steady standing position.

Drill a pilot hole on each of your screw hole pencil marks. Hold the number in position. Insert the screws into the holes. Then use a screwdriver to screw them into position.

Step 4: Adhesive door numbers

This is a self-adhesive door number. It is extremely easy to attach but be careful - you only get one chance to stick it on. Find its position, peel off the backing, and stick.
