- 1 cupcake
- blue buttercream
- black fondant icing
Fill you piping bag with blue buttercream and fit a Wilton 1m nozzle, which is a closed star. You can use any other nozzle you wish.
Pipe a swirl onto your pre-made cupcake and put to one side.
To make the mortarboard, take a small piece black fondant icing and make it into the shape of a little wheel. Place this into the middle of the cupcake.
Next roll some more black icing flat and cut out a small square. Paint a little water onto the wheel shaped piece, and stick on the square.
Take a small piece of red fondant and roll it into a sausage shape. Cut the ends to make them neat, then slice through it with a craft knife a few times to make a tassel. Wet the top of the hat and stick it on. Then make a small ball of red fondant and stick that on too.
To make the scroll, make a rectangle with some white fondant. Cut the ends and sides. Now roll it up, making sure you put pressure in the middle. Cut two little strips of red fondant with the craft knife, moisten the scroll, and place the red tassels on at a slight angle to each other.
Place the scroll on the side of the cupcake.
