How To Bake Low Fat Scones
In this guide, Paul Mulvenna-Pegrum, head chef at the George Inn in Old Oxted, shows you how to make delicious and guilt-free low-fat scones.

You Will Need
- 320 g self-raising flour
- 50 g low fat spread
- 25 g sugar
- 50 g sultanas
- 2 medium eggs
- 30 ml skimmed milk
- flour for rolling
- scone cutter
Method
Mix together the flour, low fat spread and sugar until they resemble breadcrumbs. Add the sultanas, eggs and milk and keep mixing until it becomes a thick dough.
Flour your surface and roll the dough out to the thickness of your thumb. Cut out the scones and place on a baking tray, brushing with egg before baking in a moderate oven for 25 - 30 minutes or until golden brown.
