How To Bake Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes are one of the best vegetables you can eat. They are super nutritious, loaded with vitamin C, potassium, fiber, and much more. Just follow this video and before long, you'll learn how to make this simple yet delicious dish.
Hello. Today, I'm going to show you how to bake a lovely sweet potato. These lovely sweet potatoes are organic which, I think, is the best way forward, and because they are organic, you can actually eat the skin as well.
So first of all, we just simply get our sweet potato and we chop off the end parts. Now, you can slice them up or lengthwise as well, but I like to slice them just like that, about an inch thick, because then they take less time to cook. One potato is probably enough for one or two people depending on how much you like sweet potatoes.
You can also mash sweet potatoes and have a lovely sweet potato mash, with a drop of olive oil with salt and pepper, however, we really like them roasted. You can chop them up lengthwise as well and have a really nice healthy potato wedge. So again, we just pop in a little bit of olive oil, over the top, doesn't have to be too much at all.
And my little trick is to add in a dash of water. We always use alkalized water or at least filtered water. You can put in a little dash as well of Himalayan Rock Salt but today, I'm just going to cook them like this and put them into a warm oven of about 180, 190, and see how they're doing in about half an hour.
Our sweet potatoes have been cooking for about 25 to 30 minutes. So just going to check them, make sure that they're all done. Lovely, bright orange, tasty, gorgeous sweet potatoes! Just give them a few stabs, and you'll find that your knife will come out really easy and you can tell they're very soft.
I will say as well, you know you can grate up sweet potatoes and have them raw in a salad, if you didn't want to take the time to roast them, and pop them on a plate, roast potatoes go well with lots of different things. You could even enjoy them as a starter, as a side dish, we would typically have this maybe with some vegetarian sausages, and lots of vegetables, even with some tofu. Put them on the plate so you can see some are quite toasty on top.
Also when they are cooking, you can make sure that you turn them about halfway through as well. Sometimes I forget to do that and it's not the end of the world at all. If you fancy a little drizzling of olive oil and a little touch more of pepper, just makes it taste even better.
So there you go, really healthy, gorgeous, roasted sweet potatoes. .
