Bathing your baby may not be as simple as it may seem. This VideoJug aims at guiding you on the important things to take care of while bathing your baby and making them feel at ease.
Hi. I am Laura Campbell from Babyladies and I am going to be giving you some tips on how to look after your newborn and to achieve the bath that you want. Let us talk about bathing an old baby, not a new born.
And there are a lot of things out there that you can use. There are buckets, and then there are little stands and there are all sorts. I tend to just say that put a little bit of water into the bath so that the baby can move around and it is not going to go over their heads.
You are not going to leave your baby on their own, anyway. First of all, put the water in the bath and use common sense here. Make sure that it is just tanned hot water.
Nice and warm, not too cold not too hot. You can give bath but really, just use your common sense. Obviously, better for the water to be a little bit too cold than a little bit too hot.
So, what I would do is fill the bath, there is not quite enough water in there yet. I am going to use some Arbonne hair and body wash which you can bubble up as foam, and then you don't need to use any extra shampoos or anything. www.laura.myarbonne.co.uk It is enough to clean the baby.
So I am going to just pour that under the running water and put that off, and that is nice and warm. And I would say that is actually enough water in there to bathe the baby. It means that they can slush around and get confident with the water.
And it doesn't feel strange that when there are out of their bucket or their little seat or whatever it might be. I know you need to make sure that you are constantly there for the baby. If it is that shallow, then you don't have to hold on them for the whole time.
Obviously, use your common sense. So what I would use is a baby sponge and I would let them play with the water, experience the water, have fun with the water. Obviously with the small baby, they are not going to be getting too dirty, may want that whining, and then if you are having food and things, then may be a bit more attention.
The main things that you are going to do is under the neck, under the arm pits, and then with the bottom, front to back for girls and just around the genital area with the sponge for the little boys. But not too much pulling and poking, just be as gentle as possible. And the main thing is to have fun with the bath.
Make it a really fun experience. .
