It's funny, but only half a joke. If you're the kind of girl who attracts pro athletes and other fairly well known moneyed men (and you don't have to be a skinny blonde for this by the way), you have to be prepared to live the lifestyle. I've opted out a few times in my life because it just wasn't me...but I do know others who could do this quite well without losing their soul. I don't mind being the fat friend. ;-)

My best friend was a footballer's wife. Her (deceased )husband was the gentlest, kindest and most faithfull man. So were his footballer friends. My friend worked really hard at bringing up her family and entertaining and working. She never had time to shop (except for food and kids' clothes) They were both the most down to earth people. All this WAGS stuff is laughable to us nowadays. (Her husband was a star footballer in the sixties).
