How To Be Happy The New Age Way

According to astrology, this is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius, and New Agers aren't satisfied with the traditional pursuit of happiness. Here, we introduce some alternative approaches to letting the sun shine in.

Step 1: Crystals

Crystal therapy operates on the idea that the stones have a powerful vibration: think of quartz watches, which are powered by crystals. Believers say these frequencies refine the vibrations of our own bodies, aiding our health and happiness. The easiest way to tap into crystal energy is to wear crystals: as amulets on a necklace, or in a little pouch in your pocket. Place them around your house, or you can even put them in drinking water for a crystal elixir.

Step 2: Reiki

Reiki is meant to unblock clogged energy in the body. Practitioners, sometimes called reiki masters, work intuitively, lightly touching or concentrating their energy on trouble spots. Even reiki masters often can't explain how it works, but anecdotal accounts of healing abound.

Step 3: Past Life Regression

According to this therapy, much of what interferes with our well-being is rooted in unresolved past-life problems. Under hypnosis, patients can relive their ancient dilemmas and release them into the universe.

Step 4: Rolfing

Rolfing is related to massage, and is based on the idea that the body's network of connective tissue becomes warped and maladapted over time. Therapists say that this intense, sometimes painful manipulation of the tissue can result in improved posture and chronic pain relief. But many report mental health benefits, claiming that painful emotions and experiences embedded in the body are released after a good Rolfing.

Step 5: Feng Shui

This ancient Chinese practice promotes the optimal flow of energy, or chi, through the home and hence, through the inhabitant. Areas of the home represent aspects of life, like health or money, and by improving the flow of chi in these areas, we experience greater well-being.
