So, today, we're going to talk about how to become a hair colorist. I think there are a lot of private colleges out there at the moment and there are a lot of very quick courses that you can do. Learning hair colour is something that can't be done very quickly, I think it takes a lot of experience, there are so many types of hair out there, there are so many types of hair colours and products out there, the best way to learn is through experience.
So I've always thought that best way to learn is practical experience and doing that, you need to get yourself into a salon. I think the hair colour industry is a very hands-on industry, so you can do all the theory in the world but until you get in there and start working with hair, and working on hair, you're not really going to get the experience, so getting yourself into a salon or getting started as a stylist, I think getting yourself to a salon is the most important thing, you can even go through an apprenticeship or if you really do want to get the experience, you can approach salons. A lot of salons will take you wither as on a work experience basis or even if you want to go in part time, a lot of salons will take you in part time and you can pick up a little bit of training as you work through and help them out in the salon.
If you want to become a colour hair stylist, I think the important thing to remember is that you need to get your hands on. You can do all the theory in the world but it's when you get your hands into the hair, that's when you'll really going to start learning. And that's how to become a hair colorist. .
