Modelling today has become one of the most sought after career options among youngsters. The video throws light on the steps one need to follow during the processes that lead to be a part of a modelling agency. The key is to be realistic and to look at what type of modelling you would be most suited to.

Hi. My name is Renee Barca. I work at IMM model agency.

I am going to speak to you about how the modelling industry works. I am going to explain on how to become a male model. The first thing to do in being a male model is that you need to first establish what sort of modelling you want to do.

And obviously, this is a big part of what you look like and the sort of look that you can portray in your filming. So if you are quite tall and slender, you would be best suited for fashion modelling, and if you are quite big and bulky, then you would be more suited to commercial or fitness modelling. To be a fashion male model, you need to be at least 6'1, have a chest measurement of under 40 inches, preferably 38 or under and have a waist measurement of at least 30 inches.

So if you are interested in doing male modelling in the fashion world, then you should approach different fashion agencies. The best fashion agencies to approach in London would be Storm, Models1 and Premier. You need to organize an interview with them or you could actually just go straight in and have a walk in.

A walk-in is a time set aside for new models to go in and just to ask whether or not they have the right look for the agency. A representative would come and interview you, and measure you and see you got the right look for them and if you do, you can then join that agency. From there, they would then work with you in getting you jobs that suit your look and this sort of things you are interested in doing.

Now to become a commercial model, you do not need to have anything in particular. You just need to be very photogenic and comfortable in being in front of the camera. When it comes to commercial models, they are the type of models that everybody just needs to like deodorant, through to test codes, to anything, it's nothing in particular, so you can look anyway.

They do want you to have a good physique though because then you are a bit more flexible with the sort of work they can put you in, so you could do a lot more fitness type stuffs. Preferably, we like men over 5'10 when it comes to commercial modelling just because a lot of female models are a bit shorter and we like to have that definition of high with the males and females. Again, you need to obviously have a nice look to you but you do not need anything specific.

The same thing applies with commercial modelling as it does with fashion in the sense of organizing interviews with agencies and getting them to approve you to be a part of that company. Once they have your pictures on deck, they will then send your photos out to potential clients and hopefully getting you lots of work to work in the commercial agency. .
