Hi, I am Nick Hughes. I am an astrologer teacher. I have been working in this field for the last 10 years.
Today, I am going to be talking about various aspects of astrology. How to become a naturopath? Now, naturopathy is really a natural way of healing the body without drugs, without surgery and using things like herbs, good diets, lifestyle, exercise and some homeopathy or acupuncture or in many ways, it is really open to using a number of different methods of alternatives of complimentary therapies in person's practice. So in many ways, naturopathy can be a bit of a vague term within the branch of alternative medicine because it can encompass many different therapies and when a person you know sets out to become a naturopath, they often, within a course, have to choose a certain specialization, so though they may know pooled number of different therapies, they often specialize in one or two, for example someone can be an expert in herbs but know a lot diets, a lot about exercise, a lot about other modalities.
So when you do a naturopathic course which is often about 4 years, either part-time or full-time, you find that the early part of the course is common to all the students, learning anatomy, physiology, pathology, a lot of the medical training and then towards the end one has to specialize in a certain branch of naturopathic therapies so that it becomes a specialist area for that practitioner. Now, the term naturopath is often regulated by governing body which will have a number of approved courses that you can do in order to gain the accreditation necessary to call yourself a naturopath and therefore it is important that the course you do, does have that accreditation with the governing body in your area. So once you are qualified, most naturopaths tend to find their work self-employed seeking clients from general public.
Occasionally, some naturopaths can be employed in integrated practices alongside medical doctors. And that's how to become a naturopath. .
