Before you start you need to top and tail your beans.
Bring a pan of salted water to the boil. The salt in it will raise the temperature to keep the colour and crispness of your vegetables.
Once the water is boiling, add the beans and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
Remove them from the water with a sieve and plunge in cold water to stop them cooking.
When you are ready to use them you can re-heat them in a pan with butter or olive oil, you could even add a few almonds.
